Bangladesh
Bangladesh is a country well known for its rivers, floods and poverty, leading many to refer to it as 'a permanent disaster'. However, Bangladesh has many completely different aspects as well: a rich culture and, a positive side-effect of the floods, fertility. The name the country was given by the Bengali paints a much more positive picture. Sonar Bangla: golden Bengali.
Sonar Bangla is also the title of the Bangladeshi national anthem, written by Nobel price winner Rabindranath Tagore, one of the most famous Bengali in history.
